During their school days in the late 50's, Stanley Loh and Kavie Lee became known as the Kaverley Duo as they strummed their guitars and sang the songs of the Everly Brothers. They performed at several concerts in their home town of Kuala Lumpur and notably,

they won two prestigious talent shows. (See http://www.viweb.school/Kaverley.htm)

Upon leaving school Stan attended the local university while Kavie went abroad to study

at Trinity College, Dublin. In K L, Stan continued singing with different partners before joining a folk group called the "Travellers". He had already started writing songs and

one of them - "That's the one for me" was recorded by The Sundowners from Singapore.

In Dublin, Kavie met and teamed up with Robert Dourado, a medical student from Nairobi. They started singing at college functions and then at pubs, clubs and various venues in Dublin. In 1963 they sang on Irish TV followed by four live sessions on Irish Radio. In 1966 they performed in a summer variety show at the Dublin Gaeity Theatre

that ran for six weeks.

In 1965 Stan and Kavie sang on TV Malaysia when Kavie returned to KL for a holiday.

Today, though living in different continents, they continue to enjoy and make music together, thanks to the internet. Significantly, their bond and friendship have never wavered despite living in different countries. Robert Dourado is now a retired doctor

in the U K.

And now, enjoy the music of The Kaverley Duo.. October 2016
